Whatsapp Desktop App For Windows, Mac PRO
Whatsapp Desktop App For Windows, Mac : The biggest instant messaging service in the world with more than 1 billion monthly active users has primarily lived on mobile phones since its inception. We have all wondered from time to time if keeping in touch with family and friends could have been made easier and convenient. Whatsapp Desktop App finally listened to our prayers and launched its desktop apps for Windows and Mac on Tuesday. The new apps are compatible with devices running Windows 8 and those running Mac OS 10.9 and above and are available for download through the company’s official website.
The new desktop app lets you message with friends and family while your phone stays in your pocket”, said WhatsApp in a blog post.
Whatsapp Desktop App is now available across all popular platforms in application form with the launch of desktop apps.
WhatsApp desktop apps have been released almost 14 months after the company launched WhatsApp Web that initially marked the debut of the popular messaging app on non-mobile platforms. WhatsApp Web was launched in January 2015, initially for Windows and Android phone users and later extended its support to iOS users as well.
The new desktop app (also available for Mac users) will be a real boon for some users. WhatsApp no longer needs to take up a tab in your web browser. Like WhatsApp Web, our desktop app is simply an extension of your phone: the app mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device," said the firm.

Remarkably, the WhatsApp Web client and the WhatsApp desktop apps work similarly and the app will mirror conversations and messages from mobile devices. However, more native support is offered in the new desktop app including the ability to use keyboard shortcuts, and the ability to open messages in a separate window as against a browser or being lost in a sea of tabs.
We are introducing a desktop app so you have a new way to stay in touch anytime and anywhere – whether on your phone or computer at home or work, said WhatsApp in a blog.
“Because the app runs natively on your desktop, you’ll have support for native desktop notifications, better keyboard short cuts, and more,” WhatsApp said in a blog post Wednesday.
WhatsApp on mobile devices and the new desktop apps will be synced together and the application will natively run on the desktop, which means it will have support for native desktop notifications.
The WhatsApp desktop app requires a QR code using the WhatsApp app on the Smartphone to be scanned by users just like the Web client. On the smartphone, users will have to look for WhatsApp Web menu under Settings. Users will have to make sure they are running the latest version of WhatsApp on Android, Windows Phone, or BlackBerry.
The instant messaging service WhatsApp had announced earlier this year that it had 1 billion monthly active users now.
Full end-to- end encryption was turned on by WhatsApp last month to assist you in protecting your messages from the prying eyes of hackers, cyber criminals, “oppressive regimes” and even the company itself.
If your using the latest version of WhatsApp, you don’t have to do a thing to encrypt your messages: end-to- end encryption is on by default and all the time," WhatsApp co-founders Jan Koum and Brian Acton explained at the time.
Various features are being worked upon lately by WhatsApp to add to its messaging service. It is expected to add call back, voice mail, zip file sharing, and video calls support to the service soon.
In the past, several desktop apps were introduced to act as wrappers for the browser plugins such as ChitChat for
Mac OS X. But Facebook-owned WhatsApp is providing its own native desktop solution for the first time now.
Advantages of using the WhatsApp desktop app include proper native desktop notifications and batter keyboard shortcuts. All you need in order for this to work is WhatsApp installed and working on your phone and Windows 8 or later.
WhatsApp on Windows or Mac laptops by following these steps:
